The grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is to "promote and encourage spaying and neutering of domestic animals." After adopting a new pet, owners can now choose from a list of participating veterinarians in the area (Temperance Animal Hospital!) to have their pet's surgery. Present the voucher and Animal Control will take care of the payment for you! So for those of you who have been wanting to add to your furry family but are worried about the cost of altering a pet, take advantage of this fantastic offer!
Just make a visit to the Monroe County Animal Shelter at 911 South Raisinville Road in Monroe, Michigan or call 734-240-3125 to get started. They will be able to explain how the adoption process works and other details of the program.
We are honored and excited to be part of this excellent offer that not only promotes the welfare of animals but also the welfare of our community! We hope to see many newly adopted animals soon!
