Dr. Christine Ravary, D.V.M.

Dr. Ravary was born and raised in North Toledo. After graduating from Toledo Central Catholic High School, she attended Bowling Green State University for her undergraduate studies.

Dr. Ravary began as an associate of Temperance Animal Hospital in 1995 after receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. In 2001, Dr. Ravary became the owner of Temperance Animal Hospital. She strives to present veterinary medicine to clients in an understandable and educational way. Her time is spent between practicing medicine and managing the business and team of T.A.H.

Her family includes her two sisters, one nephew, and her cat “Tommy”. In her time away from T.A.H., she enjoys yoga, vacations, and OSU sports. Go Buckeyes!

Dr. Todd Smith, D.V.M.

Dr. Smith was born in the hills of West Virginia and grew up in nearby Adrian, Michigan. After graduating from Adrian High School, he attended Michigan State University for both his undergraduate and veterinary programs.

Upon receiving his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1995, he returned to his home town to practice for four years before joining Temperance Animal Hospital in March of 1999 (and moving to Bedford shortly thereafter). In October of 2010, Dr. Smith joined the ranks of Bedford Small Business Owners by becoming a Partner at Temperance Animal Hospital.

Dr. Smith’s special areas of interest lie in preventive health care and managing complex internal medicine cases. His career passion focuses on helping our patients and the families that love them cope with, fight, and survive cancer with dignity. Since 2001, he and our oncology team have treated numerous cancer patients.

Dr. Smith is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Toledo Veterinary Medical Association, The Veterinary Cancer Association, the Human Rights Campaign, and Equality Toledo. He is a past-President of both the Southern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the Toledo Veterinary Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Smith can be found enjoying life -- perfecting his practice of Yoga; celebrating the diversity of the arts; trying to keep up with his preteen godson; or enjoying a good book over a cup of coffee.

Dr. Debra Russett, D.V.M.

Dr. Russett has been a member of the Temperance Animal Hospital Team since 1996. Born in San Diego, CA she has lived in numerous locations as an Air Force dependent. As a child she always had friendly pets - dogs, cats and small pocket pets. 

Dr. Russett graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. She worked in emergency veterinary medicine in Vernon Hills , IL, Ft. Wayne, IN and Flint, MI. T.A.H. welcomed her as a staff veterinarian in 1996. Since then she has become an integral part of our team.

Her areas of interest at T.A.H. include general medicine and dentistry. When she is not working, you can find her enjoying the outdoors or reading a good book. Her current household includes her loving husband, puppy Pan, and Minerva and Miranda – the two friendly snakes.

Dr. Cody Pollins, D.V.M.

Dr. Pollins was born in Hillsdale, Michigan and grew up right here in Temperance. After graduating from Bedford High School, Dr. Pollins began his Undergraduate studies at Monroe County Community College. In 2012, he transferred to Michigan State University and completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in May 2017.

Dr. Pollins decided to return home after graduation and has re-joined the Temperance Animal Hospital Team as an Associate Veterinarian. The special areas of interest in Veterinary Medicine that appeal to Dr. Pollins the most include orthopedics, laser therapy, surgery, and dentistry.

Dr. Pollins’ family includes his wife, Dr. Pollins, 4 chickens, Goldendoodle, “Maui”, and Soft Wheaten Terrier, “Daisy”. When not at work, he enjoys boating, playing sports such as soccer and volleyball, woodworking and SXS/ATV riding.

Dr. Robyn Lewis, D.V.M.

Dr. Robyn Lewis grew up in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Archeology from Washington University in St. Louis. After receiving her Doctorate from The Ohio State University in 1991, she worked as a Veterinarian in North Carolina for 3 years. She returned to the Cincinnati area in 1994 to be closer to her family (along with starting a family of her own) and built Liberty Veterinary Hospital. When the hospital was in the planning stages, she had 2 boys, Tyler and Chad. They grew up in the animal hospital and later worked there!

Dr. Lewis moved to the Holland, Ohio area in 2019 and became a part of the TAH family. Her family includes her husband, 2 sons, 2 Goldendoodles (Murray & Fritz), and 2 cats (Rudi & Tux).

In her time away from the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband gardening, hiking, bike riding, practicing yoga, and traveling. She is also a huge Disney fan and is an avid wine enthusiast.

Dr. Kevin Samson, D.V.M.

Dr. Samson grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended Whitmer High School. After graduating in 2011 he attended the University of Toledo where he obtained 3 bachelor’s degrees (BSC: Biology & Biochemistry; and BA in German). After obtaining these degrees he focused on applying for admission to veterinary medical school. He was accepted into Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean on the beautiful island of St. Kitts and Nevis.

After completing his clinical year of studies at Colorado State University, he moved back to Toledo and joined the Temperance Animal Hospital team. His area of interest includes internal medicine with a focus on Renal Disease and Endocrine Disorders.

In his free time he enjoys working out at the YMCA, taking his dog Blitz on walks, and cuddling with his cat, Gus. He is an avid swimmer and in his free time enjoys teaching others to swim…because he believes everyone should feel safe around the water!

Dr. Shelby Motoligin, D.V.M.

Dr. Motoligin was born and raised in Armada, MI. She has always had a passion for medicine and helping animals. After graduating from Armada High School, she attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies. During that time, she competed on the Women’s Rowing team at both Big Ten and Division NCAA levels. After completing her undergraduate studies, she went on to Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she met her husband (and fellow Doctor at TAH) Dr. Cody Pollins.

Dr. Motoligin began as an Associate Veterinarian at Animal Emergency Center of Novi in 2017 after receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. Her interests include a strong interest in Emergency Care with providing quick stabilization or urgent and emergency patients, Emergency Surgical Intervention and Management of Renal and Gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Motoligin is a member of AVAM, MVMA, SEVMA, and IVECCs.

Her family includes her husband, Dr. Pollins, a Goldendoodle (Maui) and Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier (Daisy). In her time away from T.A.H., Dr. Motoligin enjoys boating, gardening, playing a variety of sports, SXS/ATV riding, and rowing.

Dr. Kattlynn Cooper, D.V.M., CFV

Dr. Cooper was born in Toledo, OH and raised in Ida, MI.  After graduating from West Ottawa High School, she attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies. Dr. Cooper began as an associate of Atlantic Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2022 after receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in Canada. Soon after, Dr. Cooper returned home and became an Associate Veterinarian of Temperance Animal Hospital. Dr. Cooper has a special interest in Feline Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and building client relationships.

 

Her family includes her Husband and 3 cats (Nora, Cora, Minna). In her time off, Dr. Cooper enjoys playing Volleyball, playing video games, and rooting for the Spartans. (Go Green!)
